So what happens at Camp, anyway?

We hang out and play and study guitar!

All the camps are unique and there is no formula, other than keeping the number of participants reasonable and having top-notch instructors who are also great people! We use SONGS as the basis for everything we do, so you will always do lots of playing. Sometimes there are lectures/classes on different topics such as: Rhythm guitar, Playing a Melody, Creating Counter-lines, Accompanying a Vocalist, Soloing over Fast Tunes, etc.

Improvisation is an area we look at a lot: Previous improvisation lectures/classes have included: Targeting Chord Tones, Different approaches to soloing over Dominant chords, Use of Modes in flavoring improvisations, Using Rhythms to build improvisations, Using the Blues to spice up jazz playing, Range and Sound studies in improvising, and many more.

And, Frank’s Morning Warm Ups are always a big draw!

The evenings usually include performances and more playing music and hanging out.

You can count on having a ball at camp: making a lot of new friends, enjoying a lot of improvement on guitar, and leaving with a renewed sense of excitement and wonder for your musical journey!
